G.W Carver Center Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday’s:  9:00am -2:00pm, Road to Success Program. Youth Center: Monday- Friday: 2:00pm - 6:00pm. For summer hours please refer to calendar.


Road To Success Program: RTS has helped 151 young adults earn their GEDs to date with 16 earning honors.   RTS is a year-round program and will be enrolling during the summer.  Our workshops and field trips this month included: RTS staff with resumes, career assessments, job searching  Flagler Technical Institute program overview, Sayskids conducted a workshop on Individual communication practices, DJJ’s “Know the Law” was presented, Nurse Linda Broxton provided First Aid & CPR Certification class, Howard Johnson, provided Food Handlers Certification, Graduation pictures were taken on May 4th for RTS students, students went on a field trip to Daytona State Colleges ATC campus.  RTS graduates will be attending Flagler Technical Institute’s graduation ceremony at the Flagler Auditorium that starts at 7:00pm on June 6th, we have 35 eligible students that are invited to graduation. GW Carver Foundations On-Line Auction Review:  From April 11th - April 26th the G.W. Carver Foundation hosted the 2018 Online Auction. Thanks to all of the donors and participants the 2018 Auction was a great success and reached its fundraising goal of $5,000. This year a new platform was used to host the auction and based on feedback it was very user friendly. Be sure to look for the dates of the 2019 Carver Auction in early 2019!


Spotlight Talent Show Results: Thursday, May 24th 7:00pm in the Flagler Auditorium. This year there was over thirty performers that participated in this year’s show. Trophies were awarded to 1st - 3rd place winners in each division. Congratulations to all participants especially the following winners, 3rd Place: Brianna Jacobs (Imagine), Jade Guarino (ITMS), White Deer Lane Hoffman  Lane (HS). 2nd Place: Seneca Amaral (WES), Sarah Malinowski (ITMS), Brea Dwyer (MHS). 2018 Entertainers of the Year: Isabella Derie (RES), Emma Schwen (BTMS) Emma Reiter (BES), Landen Looker (BTMS), and Samantha Shumaker (FPC).


AIM Summer Camp at Carver:  The Alliance of Involved Ministers will once again host a summer camp, in the GW Carver Community Center, under the competent direction of Pastor Daisy Henry. The camp program begins on Monday, June 11th, and continues for six weeks until Friday, July 13th. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided daily. Registration is $10 per youth, and additional information can be obtained by speaking to Rev. Elijah Emanuel at the Carver Center or by calling: 437-7526 X1790.  

Facility Expansion Update: In the fall Flagler County is scheduled to break ground on the new facility addition to the Carver Center. Thanks to Flagler County and the G.W. Carver Foundation the new addition will add much needed new ADA restrooms, new offices, and flex rooms. We are looking forward to the new addition onto the Carver Center.
