G.W. Carver Center Hours of Operation: Monday- Friday’s:  9:00am -2:00pm, Road to Success Program. Youth Center: Monday – Friday: 2:00pm -7:00pm.

Road to Success: We have reached 100 grads, 12 with honors. Our workshops this month included resume writing and mock interviewing and prepping students for the next field trip on March 3rd to the Job Fair at DSC in Palm Coast. We have just signed up the 9th student in our Work Experience portion of the program and was awarded an additional $10,000 to fund the Interns by Career Source Flagler Volusia.   RTS Students completed graduation pictures and 5 students earned their GEDs in February. We had 13 students complete the First Aid & CPR training and the first week in March they will be completing their Food Handlers Certification.   For more information about the RTS Youth Program contact, Brian Willard, Program Manager @ 386.437.8279.

 

Black Family (Minority) Summit:  Was held on Saturday, February 25th, 10am -2:00pm, in the Center.  Conversations were held on: Know the Law & Civil Citations, Youth and Law Enforcement, Human Trafficking, and Faith with today’s youth. Participants received information from state & local professionals.  At the conclusion of the event a Pizza Parle was held with all in attendance, discussing local issues facing communities and today’s youth. Sponsored By: Vitas Health Care & the G.W. Carver Foundation.  Hosted by the Flagler County DMC Committee, of the Juvenile Justice Council and Focus on Flagler Youth Coalition.

Motown Madness: Saturday March 25th: On March 25th at 6:00pm the Carver Gym comes alive with the Motown sound! Tickets are on sale now, from any G.W. Carver Foundation member and are $50pp. Get you tickets NOW, in order to participate in this FUN event supporting the continued efforts of the George Washington Carver Foundation! NEW: G.W. Carver Foundation Art Exhibit & Auction: If you enjoy art and supporting the G.W. Carver Community Center, then this event is for you!  Local artist, of all levels, will be displaying specific pieces, for sale at the first: Local Artist and Auction: Thursday, March 16th, 6:30pm -8:30pm @ Hammock Dunes Creek Club House. Carver Annual 2017 On-Line Auction: Yes, it is that time again!  Auction items are being collected and the on-line event opens up on Wednesday, April 11th at 12 noon, and concludes on Thursday, April 27th, at 6:00pm.
