G.W. Carver Center Hours of Operation: Monday- Friday’s:  9:00am -2:00pm, Road to Success Program. Youth Center: Monday – Friday: 2:00pm -7:00pm.

Road to Success: RTS has helped 106 young adults earn their General Education Diplomas,12 with honors, along with life skills and pre-employment training.  This month workshops included workplace ethics, college exploration and how to become an entrepreneur, mock interviews, career pathway and career assessments.   Students also took a field trip to Marineland for a behind the scenes tour and touch and feed the dolphins excursion.  RTS is having an Open House event on June 2nd from 10:30am to 1:00pm at the Carver Center.  For more information about the RTS Youth Program contact, Brian Willard, Program Manager @ 386.437.8279.

 

G.W. Carver Foundation Art Exhibit & Auction: New this year to the annual On-Line Auction was the addition of local artists work. Prior to displaying the pieces on-line, the general public had the opportunity to view them up close and personal in an Art Show, held at the Hammock.

G.W. Carver Foundation 2017 Scholarship Winners: The G.W. Carver Foundation has the distinct honor to award three seniors, $500 Scholarships each, to the school of their choice. On Thursday, April 20th, Reverend Elijah Emanuel, the Carver Facility Manager, presented scholarships to: Lacey Jackson, Felicity Rollins, and Alana Williams. Each award winner has a past experience at the Carver Gym which qualified them to apply. Congratulations to each and every award winner!

G. W. Carver Annual 2017 On-Line Auction: The On-Line Auction came to a close on Thursday, April 27th, at 6:00pm. Every year a number of wonderful items and activities are offered up for bid. Winning residents not only get great items, but also help support the continued success of the George Washington Carver Foundation, the fundraising arm of the G.W. Carver Community Center.

2017 Spotlight on Youth Talent Show Friday, May 26th, 7pm, Flagler Auditorium:  Open auditions resulted in a number of wonderful acts that will perform for “Entertainer of the Year” Honors, in the: Elementary , Middle , and High School Divisions. The actual show is set for the LAST day of school. Mark your calendars now, to be certain NOT to miss any of the action, and to support YOUR schools representatives!  

AIM Summer Camp: Yes, it is time to start planning summer activities for our children. Once again, Pastor Henry will coordinate and sponsor the AIM Summer Camp in the Carver Gym. The Camp is set to begin on June 2nd, and continue through Friday, July 14th. Obtain Registration and additional information by speaking to Pastor Daisy Henry or Eli Emanuel, Facility Manager, at the Carver Gym.
