G.W. Carver Center Hours of Operation: Monday- Friday’s:  9:00am -2:00pm, Road to Success Program. Youth Center: Monday – Friday: 2:00pm -7:00pm. Open Gym: Tuesday, & Thursday: 3:30pm -5:30pm, and Saturday’s from 10:00am -2:00pm.  

American Red Cross & Hurricane Irma Relief: The GW Carver Community Center welcomed volunteers from the American Red Cross to distribute Water &  Ice to community members in need. These volunteers have been wonderful to work with, and represent today everything that is RIGHT with our community!

Tuesday, October 3rd BTMS Parent Night (Buddy Taylor Middle School): If you have a child attending BTMS, this event is for you!  School administration will be on hand to explain their school programs and answer any question you may have.  Help your middle school student succeed, and attend this valuable opportunity.

 

Road To Success: Road To Success Program:  RTS has helped 121 young adults earn their GEDs to date.  Workshops this month included resume building, mock interviews and techniques, career and college assessments and 8 new students started in September.   Seven of those new students have also earned their Food Handlers Certifications. GW Carver Foundation: Storms have delayed the start of the 2017-2018 season, but you can expect this group to get down to business in October. This Fund Raising group, for the GW Carver Community Center, is set to meet on Thursday, October 5th, at 10am in the Carver Center. If you can spare a few hours a week, every month, and are interested in helping the Foundation, working with the County, expand the Community Center, than this group is for you! Join us on 10/5, we are always looking Flagler Residents willing to help support the GW Carver Community Center. .  

 

Florida Faith Symposium: Pastor Eli Emanuel, the Carver Facility Manger will once again attend the Florida Faith Symposium, during October in Orlando, Florida.  This uplifting event is sponsored by Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Department of Children and Families. During this event there are a number of workshops addressing the multitude of issues facing our youth today.

 

2018 Baby/Child Fair: A group of youth representing the FPC Problem Solvers, are putting together a Baby Fair, for Saturday, February 3, 2018, an event that is scheduled to meet the needs of babies, are youngest community members, and their families. Mark your calendars today, and plan to take advantage of this wonderful NEW event.

 

Pizza Parle’: Wednesday, October 18th at 6:00pm: Reverend Eli Emanuel & Pastor Daisy Henry will host the first 2017-2018 Pizza Parle, for youth, law enforcement, and area stakeholders, on Wednesday, 10/18 at 6:00pm.  The purpose of this event is to have area youth introduced to local law enforcement, and discuss community issues. The overall goal is to lower juvenile arrests, by opening up a dialogue with all participants. It is also a great event to grab a piece of pizza. To sign-up you must see Rev. Emanuel, in the Carver Center, for space is limited.
