G.W Carver Center Hours of Operation:  Road to Success,  Monday - Friday  9:00am -2:00pm, Carver Community Center,  Monday- Friday: 2:00pm-7:00pm. Open Gym, 4:00pm - 6:00pm. For compete hours please refer to the calendar. 


Director’s Message:  This November marks the first full month of Flagler County Basketball returning to Carver!  With so much basketball it’s hard to believe we can have anything else going on, but we are!  Friday November 8th marks the monthly return of Friday Nights Done Right at Carver. Come in from 6 - 8 pm and enjoy food, music, and games!  We also have the Youth Choir practicing every Tuesday and Thursday with Mr. Stacy. Friday November 8th and 25th, we will be handing out rewards for PBS Friday!  If you have good grades, come and show us and earn a $5 walmart gift card! Carver SAC will be meeting on Wednesday, November 20th of this month at 6:00. Pastor Dennie will be holding a parent forum for any Flagler Schools’ parent on November 12th at 6:30. 


Friday Nights Done Right: The Flagler Sheriff’s PAL and the Focus on Flagler Youth Coalition have teamed up to bring Friday Nights Done Right to the Carver Community Center!  Friday Nights Done Right is a free event for Flagler Youth on the second Friday of every month. This event is designed to give our youth something fun and positive to do on a Friday night. Stop in for games, free pizza, snacks and sodas on Friday November 8th,  from 6 - 8 pm!  


Road to Success Program:  218 GEDs earned to date, 97% success rate. Students are doing internships at Flagler Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Flagler Youth Center and FTI’s Extended day program. This month we welcomed our new teacher, Jonathan Gore and wished Linda Askew farewell, as she retired. RTS also celebrated birthdays for teacher Danielle Junior and student’s Austin, Tyler and Dakota. Workshops completed this month were. Mock-interviewing series, Wells Fargo banking & financials, graduation pictures, and students completed graduation pictures, Sayskids life skills workshop, and Flagler Technical Institute conducted a program overview. Students enjoyed a field trip to Marineland and did the behind the scenes tour and were able to play with the dolphins. Next month we are scheduled to have field trips to Career Source Flagler Volusia, provide First Aid & CPR certification and Food Handlers Safe Serve Certification.

WEDNESDAY PARLE:   The kids spoke and we listened.  Pizza Parle’ is giving way to Wednesday parle’.  We will still have the same discussions but we are expanding the menu to foods other than pizza..  Come in for FREE WINGS this month and enjoy conversations with Pastor Eli on November 20 at 6:00.
